According to a Department of Labor Current Population Survey, only 34% of all Web Developers are women. It is now 2016 and high time for those statistics to change. Developer positions earn on average $50,000-70,000 as an entry level Junior Developer and give women the work from home flexibility and work-life balance that not many other industries offer.
In an effort to get more women in Atlanta interested in coding and empowered to pursue the work they love, General Assembly is partnering with Women in Tech, ATDC, and Women Who Code to host a night of coding and fellowship. Come hear a quick panel of a few of our favorite techie ladies and then try your hand at writing your first line of code! Do you have what it takes? We think you do!
For all women who are already into tech or know how to code please bring a female friend or two who should learn more about coding or get more involved in the Tech industry. Our goal with #ilooklikeadeveloper is to demystify Tech and get 500 women to write their first line of code by the end of the year!
